After working at Hill Ave Drugs for over a decade, Gavin and his wife Alisa took ownership with a shared goal - to preserve the personalized service the pharmacy is known for while continuing to innovate through custom prescription compounding.

Hill Ave Drugs has always believed in independent business and community connection. From the Ast family’s early leadership under Harold, then his son Dean Ast, to Andrew Gilbertson’s stewardship in the 2000’s, each owner has carried forward the same commitment: personalized care, expert advice and a pharmacy experience built on trust.

In 1997 Dean Ast spearheaded a complete renovation with heritage charm and warm wood fixtures. Just a few years later, the pharmacy became Regina’s first compounding pharmacy, offering customized medications through its partnership with the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA). This allows Hill Ave Drugs to prepare prescriptions specifically tailored to each patient’s needs — when commercially available options don’t exist.

Following a major renovation in 2024 focused on compounding technology and patient care, Hill Ave Drugs remains a trusted destination for both traditional and specialty pharmacy services.
